You know the last post I made? about all those new people coming into the clan?

yeah.

War Ensemble used to be Unique, we had high standards of maturity, and family above anything else. We weren’t out to ‘pwn’ other clans with our ‘l33t’ cs skills, we were all about hanging out and having a good time together.

I cannot understand this new breed of CS player, I probably never will, and to be honest, I really don’t want to. What would posess someone to resort to name calling, and mud slinging in an IRC channel at another person they don’t even know is beyond me. What would posess someone not to at least show a small amount of respect for someone they’ve just met is beyond me as well.

I teeter on an edge here. Do I hang on for the ride, and hope that it all blows over and that everything returns to the way it should be? Or do I finally cut loose what I’ve worked so hard on for so many years?

I look at the ‘new’ IRC channel, and see everything that I’ve come to loathe over the last 10 years of being on IRC. Khaled’s irc ‘color’ invention is the worst idea since Greedo shooting first. While most IRC clients support color, its still bloody annoying. The spamming and advertising of other IRC channels is not only annoying, but disallowed in GameSurges AUP. It goes on in that channel (although there is finally a rule against it). And I think what irritates me the most is the fact that they spam useless crap there, and get upset when a bot does it (devnull).

So, as I said, I teeter on the edge, If I leave, I’m pretty sure I’ll wind up keeping the website up for them, and if they need me to the server. But, as I’m constantly reminded they can always get someone else to do it for them too.

I’m standing here, asking “Who Moved My Cheese?” I can go out, and look for New Cheese, or I can sit here and Pine for what I’ve lost.
