I’ve done it, I wiped out my windows box (my only remaining windows box) and I am currently watching glibc compile. I did save about 20 gigs of my HD for Windows, because I know my Sister-in-Law needs it for doing homework (and I might too, not sure yet).
I run Gentoo on 2 other machines, an Athlon 900, and a Pentium III 550. My main computer is an Athlon 2700+ with a gig of RAM. I’ve never seen stuff compile this fast
What I’m really looking forward to, is how I can pimp out my X-Windows interface. I’ve been a gnome guy for almost 2 years now, after having made the switch to KDE, but I’m looking into xfce now as well.
I’m currently writing this from X on my Athlon 900 box (The machine the BBS is running off of), and due to it’s crap-tastic GeForce 2 MX 400, transparency, and pretty colors are an issue (not to mention the highly fucked up installation of X.org).
Well, I think it’s time to hit they hay. I’m gonna go continue watching the Star Wars documentary that’s on the DVD set of Episodes IV, V, and VI. I’ve been working on it every night for the past week or so, I seem to fall asleep after a chapter. This isn’t because it’s bad, it’s really quite interesting, considering I’m a Star Wars fanboy. It’s just because when I go lay down and turn the TV on, I manage to fall asleep right away.
Could be worse, I could have insomnia again
