Boston.com / Business / Personal Technology / Two decades late, Apple launches $500 Mac

Two Decades ago, I didn’t have $500 to blow on a mac, much less a PC. but now This wonderful little gadget is looking better and better to me.

I used to despise macintosh, I loathed them, and ripped on them to no end. I now realize they have their uses, Video Editing, Image editing, etc. is all easier to do on a Mac.

I’m not a video, or image editor, but I still find the lure of a Mac exiting :)

Well, I still despise macs… and it is caused by one small thing that happened to me while being in sweden…

swedes have this sick mac obsession, even public internet cafes have macs… well, I tried to login to my webmail… and that damn thing started looping the “Checking new e-mail messages” screen (the whole webmail system is php-based)… so if everything else works fine, the browser will fail you (I believe, that the piece of sh*t they call a browser is named Safari or something)… I never got to my webmail from sweden, as I could not find a PC…

I’ve some other funny incidents, which are too long to post here…

oh, and the mac mouse sucks

me too. probably not any time soon, but im kind of stoked at how portable it is. it’s almost like a laptop cause you can take it around with you and plug it in wherever you go.

and it’s freaking TINY - these guys know how to engineer. it’s smaller then most external HD’s! Throw a little KVM switch on it and you are money…won’t need a new monitor or keyboard

Get it! You know you won’t regret it. Besides, all of your favorite Linux apps run on Mac OS X. It’s like having your cake and eating it too. ;)
