I have the itch. It’s spring and I want to get outdoors. I want to go fishing, I want to go for a walk in the woods, but most of all, I want to go Geocaching.
I don’t usually like the outdoors, but this is something geeky I can do. I just dropped $10 on a serial adapter to hook my computer to my Garmin GPS 12. It’s not the world’s greatest GPS unit, but it works, and it was free.
There’s a whole bunch of new caches near me and I’m itching to go out and find some.
The only problem is, I really don’t have anyone to go with. I don’t think anyone I know would find this ‘fun’ and that’s the one thing that’s been holding me back thus far. That, and the fact that I get migraines any time the sun shines in my eyes.
Maybe I’ll start a crew of geocachers that go hunting at night … after all, night is more fun, and it makes geocaching so much more difficult.
I also want to hide a cache up on one of the islands near our cottage. the hardcore geocacher will enjoy that one, as it does require the use of a boat to get to.. but it’ll be neat to see who goes out there looking for it.
Anyway..
War Ensemble turned 4 years old on the 15th, and is stronger than ever thanks to great leadership from a great leader. The clan would have been long dead if it wasn’t for her tenacity and dedication, and I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves. Hell, she even drove me to do a full redesign on the website and everything for the occasion! Thanks Tay!
War Ensemble has it’s first CAL match of the season in about 15 minutes. Good luck to each member of the team, each of you has put in a ton of work and let’s hope it pays off!
