I’m not a huge College football fan. I keep track of Wisconsin, but that’s about it. Currently I’m in the middle of watching the Rose Bowl, as it’s supposed to be one of the greatest college games in the last 25 years, and so far it’s been quite good.
However, the announcers on ABC absolutely SUCK ASS. They’re bumbling all over themselves. You can’t have shit like this happening in a game that’s supposed to be the “Super Bowl of College Football”.
For example, here. Texas was kicking for a PAT, it clearly went too far for to the right, and the announcer is like “It’s good!” …. 5 seconds pass, and they’re talking about the touchdown (that shouldn’t have been, Vince Young’s knee was down when he tossed the ball away)… a few seconds later he realizes it was too far right.
YOU CAN’T DO THAT! The whole first half has been full of little bumbles like this. I pray that they bring in a better play-by-play team for the second half…
By the way, currently the score is 16-7, Texas \m/
Edit: Another boneheaded quote: “The score is 24-23, but Texas is kicking a 31 yard field goal to try and un-tie it.”

Keith Jackson’s play-by-play calling abilities have gone way downhill. Someone put him in a retirement home.

Texas defense really deserved the win. Vince Young played a great game, but it’s a shame that his down’d lateral was called fair (or not challeneged). Despite that, I am man enough to admit Texas played a hell of a game - and USC didn’t bring their A game either. Reggie went into the first quarter trying to be a star, and that cost the game too.
I agree about the announcers. The only announcer I could ever stand was Chick Hearn for the Lakers.
