I originally posted this on LivingWithStyle today, but since it’s mine, I’ll post it here too :)

Wow, the internets are being taking far too serious, and the fit hit the shan yesterday.

Apparently Mr. Bauman is at it again, stealing images from sites like YTMND. This time the “Linsay Lohan doesn’t change facial expressions” image.

Wikipedia has a nifty wrapup about it on Ebaum’s page, With links to some of the offending content, and some explainations.

Apparently a bunch of forum communities are doing things that border on illegal to Ebaum’s site and even their corporate offices. Eric Bauman’s dad sent a cease-and-desist letter to YTMND’s Owner, Max. HIS DAD. In this threatining legal letter, Eric’s dad managed to come up with a real gem, he said “I realize that most of your entire website is comprised of pathetic, pimply-faced maladjusted pre-teens whose parents don’t love them, and their best Saturday night date takes AA batteries.”

The letter also included a “LOL” among other things. It’s all really quite funny, and can be found on YTMND’s news page, by clicking here.

I don’t frequent YTMND, Something Awful, or Ebaum’s World. I visit the first two pages sporradically, and the latter site never. I am not a “fanboy” of any website except for my own. From my perspective, This is all rather silly. Ebaum’s is indeed stealing content and profiting from it, but everyone else seems to be taking the internets far to seriously.

Update: Something Awful just posted another article about it.
