Apparently quite a few people have been bumping into the problem that, when trying to update Itunes on windows, it complains about a missing Itunes.msi file. If you Browse for this file however, you’ll find it in the location that it’s supposed to be (C:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\Packages).
I tried a few things to fix this, including downloading the latest iTunes from Apple’s website. After about 30 minutes of digging, I discovered that there’s a very simple fix.
- Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
- Install the program (MS Office not required!)
- Run the program from Start->All Programs->Windows Install Cleanup Utility
- Click on iTunes, and then click the “Remove” button
- Run the iTunes installer!
All in all the process took about 2 minutes, and once again I could download and listen to my favorite podcasts

Yeah! It worked! I was getting a .msi file was missing from the iTunes installation error (or something like that).

THANKS My daugter will love you. spent a few hours tring to get program to load after update of vista, wish i would have googled way sooner. Thanks again for such a easy fix
