Yesterday I posted an article about Google Trends which shows you what the “hot” search terms are for the day. Since that post, we have experienced two more horrible tragedies. The hot topic being the murder/suicide involving Chris Benoit and his family, and of course the expected one, the release of Paris Hilton.

I fully expected to shut the TV off today, as I don’t know if I can deal with watching any more of that skank on TV. Her 15 minutes of fame were up after we saw her sex tape. Then suddenly the news broke that WWE/ECW Superstar Chris Benoit, his wife, and his son were found dead in their Atlanta Home yesterday. “Professional” wrestling has become so mainstream in the US that I knew this actually had a chance to overshadow Paris’ release from jail. Sure enough, checking Google Trends today I find that about 35-40 of the top 100 searches are wrestling related, and Paris Hilton isn’t even on the list.

Perhaps CNN and other media outlets will get a clue, and stop force-feeding us this walking STD. I don’t care about Paris Hilton, and neither does anyone else.
